We were fortunate enough to try Chubby's Jamaican Kitchen in Toronto on our recent visit to Canada. We had a list of restaurants to visit and Chubby's did not disappoint. It's highly rated on Google and for good reason. Great food and very nice decor. This is a must try for those looking for the best Jamaican food in Toronto.
The Food
The star of the show was the Port Royal Mac & Cheese. Its made with saltfish, corn, a blend of cheeses, and topped with toast panko. I never had anything like it and it was delicious. And you must get the jerk wings for an appetizer.
This place has a nice vibe. We heard nothing but the best classic R&B and hip hop. Even some mixes you would only here from your local DJ via 90's mixtapes.
The Verdict
This place is a must try if you're in Toronto. The prices are reasonable, the food is excellent, and the decor makes you feel like you're on a resort in Jamaica.
