Gaonnuri is an upscale penthouse Korean BBQ restaurant and bar located in the Nomad area of New York City not far from the Flatiron district. They offer a unique Korean BBQ experience that is designed around sharing.
You enter the restaurant from the street level of the Nomad Tower via the hostess before entering the building to then be escorted upstairs via elevators. The first thing you see is the bar and the beautiful glass wall filled with a selection of wine. The place is dimly lit and is a great place for a date night. The view of New York City can be seen all around you.
The Food
Each table is outfitted with a center grill and most of the meats are prepared on it fresh right in front of you. The menu is full of options but the one's that stand out are the pre-fixe "Sets". It comes with a selection of meats and sides.
For appetizers we ordered the Sweet & Spicy Chicken and the Steamed Dumplings. For our main course we selected the Gaon Set and every single bite was delicious. The price can seem a bit expensive at first but the food is made for sharing so depending on your appetite you can spread that cost around and get a high quality meal for a good value.

Overall the experience was positive, the food was great, and the service was outstanding. I would gladly visit Gaonnuri again. I would like to visit in the day time hours to get an even better view of New York City. Take my money!
