Bottom Line:
El Aguila Dorado in Bayonne, NJ brings classic Mexican food with some modern twists. The prices are fair, food is great, and the ambiance is really nice at the 830 Broadway location.
There are two locations in Bayonne. We often within the 412 Broadway location as its quite large, has a bar, and some outdoor seating. If you were to come with a large party of people that would be the place to go. Although the 830 Broadway location has seating its much smaller and feels more akin to a take out spot than a sit down affair.

The Food
Over the years we've enjoyed many things from this restaurant. Everything from steaks, burritos, tacos, and more. I'm pleased to report that overall we have been pleased with the food.
The honey glazed calamari is a unique offering for a Mexican restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it. I typically go for the savory side of food but the honey glaze on the calamari wasn't overdone. You also have the option of getting jalapenos to offset the sweetness.
For my main course I had steak tacos on this visit. It's very well done and I'm interested to try different tacos. They also have an abundant seafood menu and that will be my task on my next visit.
Final Verdict: It's a good place with a lot to offer on the menu and you should give it a try.
